Information note

This note provides information on the practical and logistical details of the first edition of the “Lomé Peace and Security Forum (LPSF)” to be held in Lomé on 20 and 22 October 2023.

I- INFORMATION SERVICE

A committee in charge of organizing the first edition of the LPSF has been put in place and is based at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Togolese Abroad, whose contact details are as follows:

II- DATE AND VENUE OF THE FORUM

The forum will take place on 21 and 22 October 2023 at the Hotel 2 février in Lomé, Togo.

III- VISA

  • Entry to Togo for nationals of all countries, except the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and countries that have concluded bilateral visa exemption agreements with Togo, is subject to obtaining a visa, which can be applied for and paid for online, since 30 June 2022, on the new official travel platform, whose link is as follows: voyage.gouv.tg.
  • The processing time for a visa application is a maximum of five (5) working days.
  • Special arrangements will be made at Gnassingbé EYADEMA international airport to issue courtesy visas to participants who have not obtained Togo entry visas at their places of departure.
  • Passports of the meeting’s participants must be valid for 30 days from the date of arrival in Togo. They must also have at least two (2) blank pages at the time of visa application.
  • An up-to-date yellow fever vaccination record must be presented on arrival at the airport.
  • Travelers are required to complete the online registration form for immigration purposes on the website voyage.gouv.tg.

Participants arriving at Lomé airport for the first time are required to have their photo taken during immigration clearance.

IV- PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE COVID-19 TEST

Since July 17, 2023, the Togolese Government has lifted all anti-covid-19 measures at Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport. Arriving and departing passengers are now exempt from the mandatory presentation of Covid-19 test and health pass. Nevertheless, the health authorities recommend that travelers departing from Togo check the health conditions related to COVID-19 in force in their destination countries in order to comply with them.

V- ACCOMMODATION

The Togolese government has ensured that a sufficient number of rooms will be available at the hotel 2 février, which has been selected for the event.   

Participants in the meeting are responsible for booking the rooms.

VI-VIDEOCONFERENCE PARTICIPATION:

The Togolese Government will make arrangements for participation by visioconference, the links of which will be communicated at a later date.

VII-ACCREDITATIONS

In order to facilitate access to the conference room, participants will be given a badge, prepared for this purpose.

To this end, they are required to apply by registering on the official website of the “Lomé Peace and Security Forum” at the following link: https://lomepsf.org/inscription-au-forum

They must send copy of their passport and names to the accreditation e-mail address which is as follow: accreditation@lpsf.tg.

VIII-MEDICAL COVERAGE

 Medical coverage will be permanently deployed at GNASSINGBE Eyadema international airport and at the hotel.

  • All relevant measures are being taken to ensure emergency medical services for all participants.
  • The Hotel 2 février usually has a medical facility for guests.
  • Meeting participants are advised to bring their up-to-date vaccination records, particularly against yellow fever.
  • Hospitalization costs are the responsibility of the patient.
  • All guests are requested to comply with Togo’s health regulations.

The various Lomé hospitals will be kept on standby for evacuations.

IX-BANKING SERVICES

Some banks operating in the sub-region, such as ECOBANK, ORABANK and BANQUE ATLANTIQUE, have ATMs in the hotels selected for the meeting.

Togo is a member of the CFA zone, and the currency used is the CFA franc. The exchange rate is:

1$ = 600 FCFA approximately;
1€ = 655.957 FCFA.

X- CLIMATE

In October, temperatures in Lomé range from 22° in the morning to 30° in the afternoon.
